The ACT assessment is one of the most widely-used tests for undergraduate (college) admissions. Many colleges and universities, including UIC, accept ACT scores as part of the admissions process. Students wishing to take the ACT Assessment have two options: the ACT National Testing Program or the ACT Residual Testing Program. The exams are the same, however the policies and procedures governing the two programs are quite different. Students wishing to take the ACT Residual must register, for the exam, with the UIC Office of Admissions. Students who choose the ACT Residual Assessment may not repeat the ACT Residual exam within a sixty-day period. This sixty-day exclusion applies to all Residual ACT testing, even if the previous Residual exam was conducted at a different institution.
Note: Results from ACT Residual testing, at UIC, are valid ONLY for admission to UIC and may not be reported to any other institution. ***
