New York University (NYU) Foreign Language Proficiency Exam
Students enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) at UIC may be eligible to take an NYU Proficiency exam in lieu of foreign language coursework.
Students interested in the NYU Foreign Language Proficiency exam must first consult with their Academic Advisor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) to determine eligibility.
Eligible students will be given authorization form, which must be submitted to the Office of Testing Services (OTS) in order to register for the exam, along with information on how to order test materials.
Scheduling and Testing
Students will receive a call, to schedule their exam, from the Office of Testing Services after test materials have arrived from NYU.
Students must present a valid UIC photo ID card and $25 administration fee at the time on test day. A check or money order is the only form of payment accepted.
Exams scores are reported directly to the student and the UIC College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS).
