Continuing Students
Students who are currently enrolled in classes and need to take a placement test must log into their UIC Portal and click the Student tab at the top of the page. The placement test portlet will appear for students to select the appropriate test and complete all necessary information before submitting the request. If approved to take the requested exam a link will appear on the placement test portlet.

Spring 2026 Deadline Dates for Completing Tests
Continuing Students must complete their test(s) before registering for classes. Placement tests can be taken until 3:00 pm Sunday, January 25, 2026. However, to register for a class requiring a placement test by the add/drop deadline date (January 23, 2026), you must complete all test(s) before the final deadline date listed below:
- Chemistry, Physics, French, German, Italian, and Latin– 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 21, 2026
- Arabic, Chinese, Computer Science, English, Korean, Japanese, Polish, Russian, and Spanish – 3:00 PM Sunday, January 18, 2026
- Math – Test closes 5:00 PM Friday, January 16, 2026
