College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is designed to assist students in reaching their academic goals by achieving college credit for knowledge acquired in previous non-credit studies, or outside a traditional classroom setting. Registration and Fees
The CLEP exam fee is $97. All candidates must register and pay for the CLEP exam in advance on the CLEP website. Candidates will also pay a test administration fee on their scheduled test date. The administration fee for U of I examinees with a valid “I-card” is $25. For all other examinees the fee is $35. Candidates must present the CLEP admission ticket and the non-refundable administration fee on test day. To schedule your CLEP exam, please email your request to testing@uic.edu.

DANTES CLEP
Our testing center is a certified DANTES CLEP site. Testing is free for candidates, with costs covered by the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support program. For more information, please visit the CLEP DANTES website.
CLEP Exams Offered at UIC
The UIC Office of Testing offers the full suite of CLEP Exams. Visit the CLEP website to view available exams. UIC students seeking CLEP credit should visit the University Catalog for detailed information on exams and minimum accepted scores. Please note, UIC students must consult with their academic advisors to complete the CLEP approval form in order to proceed with scheduling their tentative appointment. Non-UIC students should consult with their home institution prior to registering for an exam to verify CLEP score needed for credit.
