First Year Students

Recently accepted to UIC and have not started classes then you may take a placement test by logging into my.UIC.edu.  You must complete the first year survey in order to fulfill your placement test requirements.

To start the process:

  1. Log into your  UIC Portal
  2. Click UIC Connect/Students
  3. Click Required Placement Tests

Fall 2026 Deadline Dates for Completing Tests

New Students must complete their test(s), the Online Orientation module, Orientation, and Advising. Orientation and Advising sign-up will begin in April 2026.

Placement Tests can be taken until 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 6, 2026. However, to register for a class requiring a placement test by the add/drop deadline date (September 4, 2026), you must complete all test(s) before the final deadline date listed below:

· Chemistry, Physics, French, German, Italian, and Latin– 3:00 PM Wednesday, September 2, 2026

· Arabic, Chinese, Computer Science, English, Korean, Japanese, Polish, Russian, and Spanish – 3:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2026

· Math – Test closes 5:00 PM Friday, August 28, 2026
